PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Global Concepts are ideas and issues that affect people all around the world. They help us understand how different countries and cultures are connected and how our actions can impact others, even far away
Learning about Global Concepts helps us become more aware of the world we live in. It teaches us to appreciate diversity, understand global challenges, and think about how we can contribute to making the world a better place. Our school has developed a 2 year cycle of Global Concepts to guide out learning and teaching. By understanding and engaging with Global Concepts, we can become more informed and compassionate citizens of the world. While the concepts are schoolwide, the content that each year level, class and even individual learners engage with will differ, as our students use their interests and passions to demonstrate their understanding and achievements.
As we move into the last week of this Winter term, we wish you all a happy and safe break and thank you for your on going support and trust as we work together to achieve the best outcomes for your children.
Take Care
Cathy

1-2 Red News
5 Red News
This term, 5R has been exploring the global concept of sustainability through a range of creative and engaging projects. We’ve designed infographics, created endangered animal pop art and ecological footprints, and are currently learning about food waste through the OzHarvest program.
In maths, we’ve focused on area, perimeter, and strengthening our multiplication and division strategies. We’re now applying this learning by designing our own sustainable house or farm.
We’ve also enjoyed excursions to Parliament House, TMAG, the Sustainability Centre, and Rose Bay High. Next week, we’re excited to visit Government House to learn more about civics and citizenship and meet the Governor of Tasmania.
Kinder 2026
Enrolments for Kinder 2026 (2021 Year of Birth) who already have a sibling attending Montagu Bay Primary School can now be accepted. Please make contact with the office to ensure your child’s name is added to our Intended enrolments and collect an enrolment form.
